Our place grew organically after the devastating 2004 tsunami, when local land was being sold off to foreign investors and building in the coastal zone was restricted to only hotels. Desperate to keep this ancient fishing land in the ownership of the community, we decided to build our own 'hotel', and The Green Rooms was born.
Our mission was simple; to create a brilliant surf camp that provided something different and a little special. We really are a family, and we employ local people providing fair wages and working conditions. We give back to the community in many ways, from supporting vulnerable people, to covering medical expenses, providing rubbish collection and recycling, to helping out local schools and temples.

Situated in Weligama, 400 m from Weligama Beach, The Green Rooms features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage space and currency exchange for guests.

Medical Condition
The Customer declares that they do not suffer from any medical condition that may hinder their participation in the surf camp, including but not limited to acrophobia, epilepsy, dizziness, limb or back injury, angina, or other heart conditions, severe or uncontrolled asthma, visual impairment, depression, or recovery from recent surgery.
Customers agree that The Green Rooms Surfcamp is not liable for any injuries or accidents that may occur during their training period. There will be no refund if they are unable to complete their training course due to any medical conditions or accidents during their stay.
Customer Property
Each Customer is solely responsible and liable for the safekeeping of all their property. The Green Rooms Surfcamp has no responsibility for any loss or damage to any Customer's property.
